Roam Soft
£99.00
- Designed and built on a hand-shaped, downturned last by Fred Nicole, ROAM Soft is a soft slipper (no midsole) developed with Jason Momoa as part of the So iLL x On The Roam collection. ROAM Soft features a three-way stretch knit entry with an elastic band stitched to a durable, comfortable, unlined vegan microsuede upper. This shoe is tensioned from under the toe to the back of the heel while the laser etched rand generates tension as well. The outsole is split and outfitted with Vibram XS Grip Rubber which extends in a wide band to the top of the heel. ROAM Soft is ideal for aggressive overhanging bouldering or sport climbing where toe power and sensitivity are crucial. The combination of a soft toe box combined with a split outsole allows for precision placement and power transfer on small foot holds and pockets. The heel hooking capabilities of this shoe are unmatched, which presents climbers with a slipper style shoe like no other currently available on the market - essentially a talon (in shoe form) for the human foot.

Love these shoes. I feel like these are the best shoes from Soill’s new lineup and it’s not even close. Fits wider feet with narrow heels perfectly. The toe patch covers a lot of surface area and hasn’t delaminated after over a year of use, the heel hook provides a lot of stability due to how high the spine goes up to the achilles, and the shoe provides a good amount of support even on smaller holds despite being a softer shoe.
Would love to see a more “performance” version of these shoes with a strap.
I’ve said it on all of their shoes but I feel like these shoes would be even better with XS Grip II but I will hope that the new collaboration rubber that they will be using on their future shoe trickles down to this one.
The most comfortable climbing shoes I've tried! Downsized pretty aggressively but no pain at all just extreme tightness, and I can still wear them for the majority of my sessions (2-3 hrs) before having to take them off since my toes go numb. It's weird because despite how tight they are, they don't hurt at all, it just feels like a really tight sock. Excellent rubber and I find they do offer a surprising amount of stiffness for a "soft" shoe. The toe box is great for toe hooks too. The only complaint from me is the heel, which doesn't lock in very well, but my heels are quite narrow, so keep that in mind.
I recently received the SoILL Soft Roam and was thoroughly impressed by its quality. The product is exceptionally comfortable to use, and the rubber material stands out as the best feature, excellent grip and durability.
Was looking to find a show I can wear 90% of the time when setting and forerunning, that would be easy on and off, comfortable, and have the performance to test as many boulders as possible. So far it has met all of those needs, and I have chosen to wear it for full training sessions. Really pleased with it!
I sized mine to the beginner / comfort side of the scale. I wanted a shoe I could wear all day and have absolute comfort with no pressure on my feet, and total flexibility for my foot on the wall. These feel like wearing rubber socks in the best way possible! So comfortable, I’m climbing longer days because of them.
